Ethan Cohen Fine Arts presents M | I | C /A || THEN / NOW, a two-part exhibition featuring the work of selected MICA alumni, at Ethan Cohen Fine Arts in Chelsea and Kunsthalle Beacon (KuBe). This exhibition is curated by Barry Nemett, Chair of the Painting Department at MICA, and dedicated to the legacy of President Fred Lazarus IV. During my years at MICA I was know to experiment with anything I could get my hands on: clay, yarn, paint, chairs, trash bags. I still continue joining disparate elements into something new. With my business, Damn Good Doormats/ Art you can wipe your feet on, I have been able to combine years of varied accumulated craft skills with a satirists love of wordplay. Thus, "Art you can wipe your feet on" both pays hommage to and thumbs it nose at everything I've ever learned.
